Dev Blackburn is a third-generation Californian born into a nature-loving, environmentally aware family of foodies. Her father was a beekeeper, and her mom managed a health food store, becoming a chef was inevitable.  Trained as a French chef in her 20’s, Dev used her culinary education as a personal wellness chef to elevate plant-based cookery to the level of gourmet, healing cuisine.
Additional culinary and nutrition training including Cornell plant-based nutrition certification, and ongoing study of climate change defined Dev’s OMChef mission; Enlighten Omnivores and Create Zero-Waste Zealots. What’s a mission without a method? Dev’s OMChef method of zero-waste plant-based cookery evolved over 25 years cooking for dozens of families and individuals with a wide variety of dietary requirements. Dev now teaches the OMChef Method of zero-waste, plant-based cookery to individuals and groups in the greater Los Angeles area.

What can a plant-based diet do?
  • Prevent and/or reverse:
    •  heart disease
    •  diabetes
    •  obesity
    •  high cholesterol
    •  high blood pressure
    •  cancer
    •  depression
    •  lethargy
    •  ED
    •  low libido
      •   Fight Climate Change
The OmChef method:
  • Reduce your carbon footprint
  • Re-educate and excite your palate with the healthiest ingredients and dishes
  • Eliminate commercially processed, preservative and pesticide enhanced ‘foods’
  • Eliminate sugar, salt, and fat cravings
  • Reduce (and for some, eliminate) intake of animal foods
  • Increase intake of raw, plant-based foods
  • Avoid the ever-increasing cost of healthcare required to treat the above-mentioned diseases
  • Achieve and maintain optimum health via the foods you eat
  • Reduce and eliminate plastics from your kitchen
  • Stop wasting food! 40% of food produced ends up in landfills, and all that wasted food creates methane gas, a potent contributor to global warming, methane is 30x more powerful than carbon dioxide
